Individual Match Play ~ Net individual play against one opponent.  Teams should rank themselves as A, B, C, D abillities/handicap and play against an opposing teammember of equal ranking when possible.  Strokes will be given to the higher handicap and be awarded by taking the difference in the two handicaps.  The difference will be applied to the more difficult rated handicap holes.  Each hole is worth 1 point and is either won, lost or halved.  After nine holes the higher point scorer will win the match.  The teams record will be made up of the 4 matches (W,L,T) to contribue to their season record. Individulal team points will be used as tie-breaker for playoff seeding.

Handicap Calculations

  • Step Back Scramble - 50% of the teams average handicap.  Compare to the other teams handicap. Find the difference (round down) and apply strokes (dots) to the hardest ranked holes.

  • Individual Match Play - Each Match will only give strokes to one player.  Subract the higher hdc from the lower hdc and give up that amount of strokes on the hardest ranked holes.  ie, if im a 10 and your'e a 7, you would give me three shot on each of the 3 hardest ranked holes by placing a dot in the scoreing collumn for those holes (the dot indicates that player recieves a net shot on the hole).

  • 2 Man Best Ball - Handicaps will be calculated of the lowest handicap of the 4 players for each of the two matches.  If the lowest handicap is a 10 and the other handicaps are 12, 13, and 15.  The 10 will not recieve and net strokes The 12 will recieve two net strokes (dots), the 13 will recieve three net strokes (dots) and the 15 will recieve five net strokes (dots) to be applied to the hardest ranked holes.

  • 2 Man Scramble - Add each teammates hdc together and divide by 4.  Compare to your opponents team handicap and apply the difference to the hardest ranked holes.

  • 2 Man Chapman - Average the two players handicaps.  Compare to your opponents team handiap and apply the difference to the hardest ranked holes.
