The 2022 Men's League Team Season is 15 weeks of team competition consiting of 4 players representing your team weekly and played on Wednesdays at 6pm.  You can find the weekly formats, matchups, and your hole assignment from the Schedule Tab.

Pace of Play is the number one priority.  Every match needs to be completed in 2h32m (The sprinker system cycle starts around 8:32pm).  Weekly competitions are played in 8-somes on either the front 9 or back 9.  2 teams per hole.  Keep pace with the group in front of you.  All 36 teams, in theory, should be teeing off at the same time, approaching the green at the same time then putting out at the same time across the entire golf course.  If all teams could complete each hole in 15 minutes it would only take 2h15m to complete a round.

Helpful Hints for Keeping Pace

  • Do your part to urge your playing partners along, play ready golf.
  • As long as you are not interfering with another player you shoud be hitting the ball.
  • Go through your routine while waiting for other players so when its your turn you hit without delay, especially on the putting green.
  • If using a cart, consider dropping the first player off, then proceed to your ball and meet back up after you both hit.  "It's golf, lets do a little walking."
  • When you have no chance of winning a hole you should concede.  Please write down the score marked first with an x then the number of stroke you estimate you would have made on that hole.
  • Give putts that have no outcome on winning or losing a hole.  A gimmie is a gimmie.  And a good guide to sportsmanship is to use the "Circle of Friendship" guidelines. Anything coming to rest within 3 feet of the hole should be considered a gimmie.  This length can be measured using the color on the bottom of the flagstick.
  • When behind, once you have holed out proceed to the next tee and tee off while the others are still putting.  Every minute adds up.
  • The golf course ranger has the authority to enforce pace of play.  From friendly encouragement, maybe a warning to close the gap, or potentially to pick up and move to the next hole.

Check-in

A team representive is required to pick up their league scorecard prior to 5:40 and inform the shop of who will be playing.  The only other players who need to check in are those who need to pay twilight green fees or rent carts.  League Punch Cards are kept on file in the Golf Shop and will be punched accordingly.  Golf carts will not be rented as single seats.  When renting a cart one person will be responsible for the entire rental and can have his riding partner split it with him or have the rider buy the next week.  Starting hole information, formats, scoring systems, handicaps and local league rules can all be found in this portal under the appropriate tab.

Weekly Play

All players are required to have a season pass, corporate pass, league punch card or pay the twilight fee to compete on Wednesdays.  Team Check-in is available starting at 2pm.  The golf course will close to the public at 3pm.  Men's League Teams/Players can book times from 2pm to 5pm for warm up play. Teams should be on their starting hole 5 to 10 minutes prior to the 6pm shotgun.  This will give you time to determine the matches and dot the scorecards.

Each week the League Skins Derby will be held Wednesdays at 3:30.  Advanced registration required, please call the shop prior to 3pm to register weekly.  The entry for the Derby is $10 and walking is not permitted.  Typically the derby is made of 3-person scramble teams (One "A" Player, one "B" Player and one "C" Player) who play $1 skins with carry-overs.  Order of play near the greens is played from outside in, once two teams tie a skin, all teams move to the next hole.  This game is played with as many as 18 people at a time and moves fast.  Be ready to hit and feel free to tee off while others are putting.  Any team winning 5 skins must buy a round of drinks follwing the derby.  Any carry-overs not won on the 9th hole will be donated to the JR Golf Program

League Handicaps

  • All players must establish a league handiap.  For new players this requires a GHIN or two 9-hole rounds submitted to the Golf Shop on a scorecard including a first and last name.  Players who played in the 2021 season will carry thier handicap over into the 2022 season.  Players can use Wednesday, April 20th and 27th of PreSeason Play to establish their league handicap.

  • Players who do not have any rounds submitted will play as a scratch.  If only one 9-hole scorecard has been submitted they will recieve 50% of their adjusted handicap from their first 9.  This league handicap policy will be in effect for the regular season and the playoffs.

  • Your league handicap may fluctuate from week to week because it is based off a handful of previous scores.  When calculting league handicaps we will adust higher hole scores down to a maximum of net double bogie.  Don't slow down play putting in for 8, 9, 10, etc. hoping to pad your handicap because these hole score will be adjusted.

  • Players current handicaps can be found under the Stats Tab.

Inclimate Weather

  • Any cancelations of a league night will be determined by 4pm on Wednesday.  Once a decision has been made to cancel it will be communicated through text.  There are a few built in make up weeks into the schedule.  Individual matches will have the highest priorety to be completed or rescheduled.  If we are not able to make up a match it will be considered halved.

  • If play is delayed for any reason and not able to be completed, any remaining holes will be halved.  If the minimum number of holes was not reached the match could be scrubbed and rescheduled.

  • Weather Delay Warnings
    • 1 long horn blast - Delay of play due to dangerous situation.  You must immediatly stop play and seek shelter. Mark your ball with a few tees if possible in case we are able to resume play.  Penalty for playing in a dangerous situation is disqualification.
    • 3 long horn blasts - Suspension of play due to non-dangerous situation.  You have the option to mark you ball and seek shelter or you are allowed to finish the hole then seek shelter.  No groups are allowed to start a hole after the horn has blasted 3 times.
    • 2 long horn blasts - Resumption of play.
